Jose D. Ferreira, 87, of Milford, passed away May 6, 2026, at Milford Regional Hospital . He was the loving husband to Fernanda (Nunes) Ferreira of 62 loving years. Jose was born in Castelo, Portugal before moving to Milford in 1974. He was employed at Fafard Construction until it closed as a laborer and Retired from Waters Corporation in 2004 .
Jose loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He also enjoyed attending festivals in his home town of Portugal where he would accompany the procession. He enjoyed watching fireworks and letting a few go off himself. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Milford.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Emidio Ferreira of Northbridge, David Ferreira and his wife Danielle of Sutton, John Paul (JP) Ferreira and his wife Alysha of Hopedale, Maria (Tilly) and her husband Joaquim DaSilva of Bellingham, Solina and her husband Jim Reardon of Uxbridge, and Marlene Ferreira of Blackstone. In addition to his children he is also survived by his 10 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. His brother Julino Ferreira of Portugal, and his sisters Celeste Fraga of Milford and Olga Fernandes of Milford.
Jose was predeceased by his parents Manuel and Amelia and his sister Gilberta Rodrigues.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 4-7 P.M. at the Consigli Ruggerio Funeral Home 46 Water St. Milford MA. The funeral mass while be held May 13, 2026 at 10 A.M. at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Winter St. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
